Embrace- Domestic Abuse Victim Services

Embrace provides services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to survivors of domestic violence, intimate partner violence, child abuse, and sexual violence.  Embrace is also a resource for survivors' families, friends and partners who want to learn more about providing support.

Immunizations

Public Health offers immunizations, to eligible children and adults, at no cost through the Wisconsin Vaccine for Children Program and Wisconsin Vaccine for Adults Program.

Maternal Child Health Services

Public Health Nurses, Registered Dieticians and Health Educators work to assure quality health services are delivered to mothers, children, and families in Barron County.

Women, Infants and Children Nutrition Program (WIC)

The purpose of the special supplemental nutrition program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is to promote and maintain the health and well-being of nutritionally at-risk pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants and children (under age 5).WIC provides supplemental nutritious foods, nutrition and breastfeeding information, and referrals to other health and nutrition services. WIC promotes and supports breastfeeding.

Environmental Health

Environmental health is a regulatory and licensing agency for food service establishments, public swimming pools, bed and breakfasts, hotels, motels, campgrounds, tourist rooming houses, recreational education camps, food vending machine operations, school food service programs, and tattoo and body piercing establishments.

Environmental health also investigates nuisance complaints, housing complaints, lead based paint hazards, well water quality, indoor air quality (including radon), and other environmental hazards.

Environmental health is an informational and educational resource for a variety of environmental health topics.
