What is a Subdivision?

A subdivision is the division of a single lot or parcel into two or more lots or parcels where at least one of the lots or parcels being created is 19 acres or smaller in area.

What Needs Approval?

Subdivisions creating one parcel of land which is nineteen (19) acres or smaller needs county approval and shall be recorded as a Certified Survey Map (CSM).

All CSMs, preliminary maps, and legal descriptions dividing existing parcels shall be reviewed by the County prior to recording.
Subdivision of five (5) or more lots of less than an acre and a half (1 1/2) needs State Plat Review and County Approval.

What is the required lot size?

The minimum size of a new parcel created in Barron County is one acre (43,560 sq. ft.) with a minimum lot width of 150 feet.
