Grant Funds Available to Storm Damaged Residential Properties

On May 16-17, 2017, storms destroyed or damaged many residential and businesses structures across Barron County. The Wisconsin Department of Administration, Division of Energy, Housing and Community Resources, has released and awarded $1.4 Million in funds to assist eligible owner occupied households to make necessary home repairs or assist in replacing homes destroyed from the storms.

The West Central Region Housing Program, acting through the Chippewa County Housing Authority has been contracted by Barron County to administrate the funds. Income limits apply.

Families that owned mobile homes (primary residents) are eligible, as well as those that own homes taxed as Real Estate. Contact Valerie Prueher, Chippewa County Housing Authority 715-726-4580 or Lori Artz 715-738-2596.

Eligible households must have an annual gross income not exceeding the identified amount below.  The figure represents 80% of County Median Income (CMI).  Household Income Limits for all Wisconsin Counties can be found on the DOA website at the following link:
