Probate records are open to the public and there is no charge for you to search for a specific case. If you require assistance, there is a $4.00 search fee.

You may request copies of filed documents at a charge of $1.00 per page.

Please start your search prior to 3:30 p.m., since this office closes at 4:30 p.m.

Searching probate court records prior to 1985 back to 1874 must be done using the Index Book available at the Register in Probate Office in the Barron County Justice Center.

Searching probate court records after 1985 to present may be done using the State of Wisconsin Court System website. Please click on the link below entitled "Case Lookup".

The Wisconsin State Historical Society and the University of Wisconsin Stout also have Barron County Probate records available. All probate records prior to 1936 were sent to the Wisconsin State Historical Society or to the University of Wisconsin Stout.
