Volunteers Needed - Barron County Volunteer Guardian Program
Are you looking for something to enrich your life and the lives of others?
Every week, the Circuit Court Judges of Barron County hold guardianship hearings to appoint a person to make decisions for someone who is unable to do so for themselves because they are elderly or disabled. Oftentimes the County has a difficult time finding guardians for these people who may not have family or close friends available. For this reason, Barron County developed a Volunteer Guardian Program to recruit citizens in the surrounding communities who have time to manage finances and/or make personal decisions for those unable to care for themselves.
On Tuesday, September 10, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Barron County will be hosting a training and informational session at the Barron County Government Center. If you can manage a checkbook and can give a day or two a month to help ensure quality care for our frail and disabled, please contact the Register in Probate at 537-6261 for more information.
Our presenter is a nationally certified guardian who will offer a general overview of guardianships and provide practical information to use in everyday endeavors as a guardian. Call today to register! Make a difference in someone else’s life while you enrich yours.
