Tattoos/Piercing

The Environmental Health Department works with tattoo and body piercing facilities to maintain a sanitary and safe experience for customers.  The department licenses and inspects body art and piercing facilities to help eliminate potential health and safety issues.

Licensing Process:

1. Call (715-537-6844) or email (watertest@co.barron.wi.us) our department to obtain the correct application.
2. Complete application form and submit the application to our department with fees for the pre-inspection and annual permit fee.
3. Schedule pre-inspection by contacting our office by phone (715-537-6844) or email (watertest@co.barron.wi.us). The pre-inspection needs to be conducted before operation is allowed. Please note that our schedule can be booked out 2-4 weeks depending on demand.
4. Sanitarian will guide you through the rest of the process to receive your permit.
